My favorite styles have always been Guitar Bands, Hard Rock, Metal, Hard Core, Noise, Emo – Space Rock Guitar Noise, even Classical acoustic guitar. Anything with a good Guitar Player and of course Lyrics that make you think or at least smile... For me, it all started with Elvis (thats right, Elvis Rocked!:), The Mamma's and the Pappas's, Peter Paul & Mary, The Man in Black - Johnny Cash (I hear that train a comin), Roy Orbison (Pretty Woman), The Byrds, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Lynerd Skynerd, Eric Clapton (back when he rocked;), Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Grand Funk, Joe Walsh, Edger Winter, Yes, The Who, Guess Who, Boston, David Boey (and the Spiders form Mars;), Queen, (How old am I? Well, maybe just Too Old to Rock n Roll, but much to Young to Die) yep, Jethro Tull. And when I decided to Renew My Mind (Romans 12:2) I moved right on to Keith Green, Pat Terry, Don Fransisco, Rez Band, Petra, Blood Good, White Cross, Lightforce, Recon. Tempest, Guardian, Striper, The Choir, Alter Boys, Mike Roe, MATW (Mad at the World), Steve Taylor, One Bad Pig, Eric Champion (after his Transformation or should I say the album called...) News Boys (before they went Hip Hop, jk;) they are very talented and I like allot of their songs and admire their accomplishments:) Tourniquet, Deliverance, Sacred Warrior, Mortification, Living Sacrifice, Six Feet Deep (The... Hard Core Band!), Johnny Q Public (Johnny Q Rocks Live!), Galactic Cowboys, Kings X, Nailed Promise, Embodiment, Travail, Stavesacre, The 77s, The Prayer Chain, Poor old lu, Mortal, Project 86, Starflyer 59, Morillas Forest (I still want to start a Noise - Metal Band!:), Raspberry Jam, Reality Club, Plank Eye, Audio A, Glisten, Chevelle, Radial Angel, Skillet, Also some great Emo bands that I mixed for in the late 90's but I can't remember their names now. Hmmm, I like allot of the new (almost hard core but more commercial) Bands out now on the radio. I must admit, I have become lazy now that we have a local Christian Rock Station (89.7 Power FM, thanks Chris:). I haven't learned the names of allot of the bands that I like on the Radio now, since I don't mix shows and actually meet the bands... Or is it that I'm just getting old and can't actually remember:O So, where was i?;) Yep, I'm an old Metal head, but I like allot of different styles of music too. I have always loved female vocalist and song writers like, Joni Mitchel, Carrol King, Jefferson Air Plane (Gracy Slick started it all...), Heart, Margret Becker (ever noticed the similarity in vocal sound, back when she rocked... jk, Margaret still Rocks:), Leslie Phillips (aka Sam Phillips), Kim Hill, Leigh Benjamin Nash (Six Pence), The Clergy (Chris Simonatti... this girl Rocks!), 65db, World Wide Message Tribe, Sarah Masen, Christine Glass, The Benjamin Gate, Animal Couch (where are you?), Miss Angie and there are so many now that I have found on ShoutLife, DittyTalk, MySpace, Podsafe Music Network and BTPodShow and..., I could go on all night... But I wouln't:) All these Artists have influenced me in my Writing and Vocal styles and by Inspiring me to try and be as creative as they are and give my art back to God, the one who gave it to me in the first place:) And the True Artist, the Creator of all Creation!:) Marty's Bands;) Marty - Guardian, Guardian, Guardian, Oh, Mmmm... did I mention... Guardian!?;) Really, Marty is an Old School Rocker... a Guitar & Bass Playin... Key Board Playin.. Drum Daddy from way, way back:) Marty Rox! Don

Hi my name is Don, Living Beings are... |

Hi I’m Don, Living Beings are, Don Bishop and Marty Splawn. We do mostly "Christian Rock" music and we have just finished recording a new Album. It’s called Living Beings – Climate Control. It has taken almost a year and a half of Thursdays, but the recording is finally done. This is kind of a Studio Project - Album. There are only two of us, so it would be kind of hard for us to play live right now. But if people like our songs and I can find band members to play Marty’s music, who knows… Marty plays all the instruments and composed the music for the songs. And I wrote all the lyrics, except on Is it True Lord, which was a Poem written by Kristina Hensley. Marty played and recorded the music and recorded my vocals and we mixed and remixed the songs together, except for a couple of little changes I made on my computer after I got them home;) Don’t tell Marty!:) Marty and I have worked together since about 1997 on and off. We have done several different styles of "Christian Rock" music, from 60’s - 70’s - 80’s - 90’s Rock & Roll, to almost Rockabilly to almost Metal:) Including a couple of acoustic songs. Our first set of songs are on the DonSongs Album. You can go to DonSongs.com to check them out and download them too. I have really enjoyed our sessions and hope you enjoy the songs we came up with too. Marty has been playing music since he was a teenager and teaches guitar, bass and drum lessons. I am pretty much a late bloomer. I always wanted to write and sing, but I didn’t think I had the talent and thought I was too shy to sing in front of people when I was younger. Now I don’t care, I just want to make music!:) I almost had a real band going back in about 95’. We practiced every week for about 6 months, but we never played out. Everyone got married and busy, so now there’s just no time for them. I on the other hand have allot of time, and would still love to start a “real band”. Right now though, I’m just really glad to have been able to record these songs and realize some of my dream:) Hope You like our Like our Songs. Don
