Passion…

For God, and then for music. It is at this crossroads where Petri lives. His songs come from an uncompromising desire to write what he hears in his heart. Songs that His Savior wants to give to His people. And then there’s the desire to sing a greater song, the relentless pursuit to write music that moves the soul closer to God, the desire to break the mold and let the music speak on its own. It is the marriage of passionate worship both in word and melody. Art that goes straight into the heart, worship that ties the soul to eternity.

God called Petri to write worship music a couple of years ago, and he has since focused on following that call. The new CD “Feet of Clay” (out March 24th, 2007) is a rich tapestry of art and worship with passionate lyrics. “Come” and “Almighty King” declare God’s awesome power. “Abandon” and “Living For My King” are sung by a lost soul that has found the Father through Jesus Christ and left behind his selfish ways. The title track, “Feet of Clay”, is a joyful declaration of how we can come to God just as we are because of His great love.

Petri moved to Los Angeles from Finland in 1998, and has since played in or led close to a thousand worship services in different Los Angeles area churches. He currently leads worship at his home church, the Crescenta Valley Community Church in La Crescenta, CA. All the songs on “Feet of Clay” have been tried, tested and found true before a worshiping church that is chasing after God in their times of worship and beyond.
