Biography Christian Hip Hop.....Give it a listen, don't see the genre and be so quick to judge. Afterall, we're all Christias aren't we?
I'm a producer / emcee for the PrhymalRage movement. I also own and co-operate an independant record label called 1 Mind Productions. "Hip Hop is in a state of emergency" says my boy Poetry Feen. He is exactly correct. In the 50's a man by the name of Robert S. Mendehlson wrote a book called "The transformation of modern medicine from an art and a science into a business for profit." Let's just say writing the book cost him his practice and licence because the medical industry didn't like it. He was simply informing the public that there can be cures for anything, but if everyone was cured of diseases, the market would plumet and thousand upon thousands would be put out of jobs, thus crashing a large portion of the economy! In short term, it's more profitable to keep treating something, and keep selling those treatment products than it is to cure it, it keeps commerce running. Ask me how this is relevant to Hip Hop? Hip Hop has taken a similar toll, it started as an art, and a science; The scratch, the graff writers, pop-locking beatboxers, emcees (not rappers!). Rapping is something people do, Hip hop is the creative force behind it, they way of life. Now hip hop has turned into a market and business for profit. We got he big wigs in thier executive chairs telling the ARTISTS what type of songs to cut from the album and what types to add to the album before they release it nationally. Did anyone sit in a room and tell Salvador Dali or MC escher what to paint? No, that's why they were so successful, they had CREATIVE FREEDOM! If Bach, Liszt or Beethoven were alive today, or if when they were alive, there was a "Music industry" they would not have been so successful. The industry is evil! I plan to either clean it, or clean the ears of the people who buy into it. You see, by cleaning it, I use the cure, by cleaning the ears of the public, i use the treatment. It all ties in if you actually digest my logic. |
