Biography High Quality, Top-Notch, Professional Excellence -- these are the trademarks of MESSENGER. MESSENGER began in Howell Michigan in early 1994, formed as a Christian rock band. With members bringing classical, country, alternative and rock backgrounds, Messenger soon found its own unique style and sound.
It has been the goal and desire of MESSENGER since its conception to present the gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that is entertaining, but more importantly, the truth of who God is and what He is capable of doing in a life that is yielded to Him. For more than a decade now, MESSENGER has ministered through music. Through personal performance, CD sales and radio airplay, this message spans the globe. This group truly strives to live out the great commission….to go and make Jesus known, to everyone! The choice of a key verse for the group came not because the passage contained the name of the band, but because it supported the direction of the ministry, and later became the foundation for its mission and ministry statement. I Thessalonians 2:4 says, "For we speak as messengers from God, sent by Him to tell the truth; We change His message not one bit to suit the taste of those who hear it, for we serve God alone who examines our hearts' deepest thoughts." Although messengers of the gospel, and its style of delivery, sometimes change, the gospel itself never changes. This group is determined that the message they bring will never change. The current members of MESSENGER have again raised the bar on their ministry. Focused on helping people see and believe that 'Christian music' has a higher purpose and that its goal is not mediocrity, but excellence. This requires more from the group, but this is not a burden but an ingrained desire of each member. Messenger is committed to remaining obedient to the call of Christ, and as He has promised, He is showing His faithfulness and blessing them abundantly. "Our prayer is that those who hear our sounds will be attracted to the voice of Him who holds the answers to all human needs....Jesus! We do hope to entertain our audiences, but more importantly, we want them to hear the message of hope, salvation and victorious Christian living." |
