With the release of his debut album Time, the eccentric emcee/artist/producer/writer Blessed is beginning a new chapter in the industry and in his own career. Born in Atlanta, Blessed grew up with 6 other siblings in a lower class, poverty-stricken neighbor hood that gave him street knowledge and a certified testimony. Always seeking to grow and better life for his family and himself, he focused on his passion, music. After multiple years of musical studies and percussion lessons, he found his calling in producing records and writing lyrics. In 1998, while attending Florida A&M University, Blessed earned immediate success by performing in showcases and talent shows around the campus. Upon receiving and listening to a demo forwarded by Blessed, Jeff Thompson, A&R at Def Jam South Recordings, stated that he "heard a fire that couldn’t be quenched,” in reference to the songs on the demo. Without stepping into the pulpit, the content of his music to exemplifies conscience thoughts and unique ways of delivering the gospel, while keeping the listener entertained and intrigued. In 2007 he was the first artist to be featured twice on the Holy Hip-Hop Compilation: Taking the Gospel to the Streets V.5, and was voted by thousands to be featured on V.6, which will be released in the fall of 2008. With 10+ years of experience in stage performance, studio recording and production, and independent advertising, Blessed has been well received, evoking superb responses. Currently involved with Bonecrusher and The CoCo Brothers "Stand" Project which involves “The Spirit of Hip-Hop” compilation cd, as well as a tour with his "Exodus" Campaign, producing for Young Prayzr and numerous other gospel artist, Blessed is poised to continue to create a buzz and answer the call for something fresh and new in the music industry. He is currently unsigned, yet aspires to do whatever it takes to ensure that the quality of music in today's mainstream is filled with God's love, and is a positive encouragement for all people, while making good music.
