What do you do with four gung-ho combat addicts who’ve been scraping with Scratch for centuries when they all discover that they’re stationed together in Washington, DC and they all love to play music? You put them together in a band, of course, and you record them and send them out to perform. That’s just what the powers-that-be decided when faced with the question of a certain four gargoyles, and the result is SCRATCH ADDICT.

All the members of SCRATCH ADDICT have individually distinguished themselves by crushing over one million demon skulls and vanquishing no fewer than 144,000 evil spirits. The demons are chumps. It’s "The" spirit of evil that puts up the greatest fight.

After many centuries of service, the members of SCRATCH ADDICT found themselves drawn together for a special mission in the combat zone in and around Washington, DC.  After getting to know each other during the long nights, the members of SA all found that they had a love of making music. It is tough for gargoyles to make music together and stay on mission, but eventually we found a way.

After calling in all of our collective favors with the head office, SCRATCH ADDICT received permission not only to practice and perform together regularly, but also to reveal themselves as gargoyles to the human public. We understand that we might be frightening to some people, but the the big guy Himself decided that the opportunity to use SCRATCH ADDICT's music to finally, after millennia of silence, speak directly to humans was too important to keep them performing in a deep cave playing only for the ears of other gargoyles.

Some of our songs are about things we went through before we became gargoyles, why we became gargoyles, or hanging out with humans who don’t realize that we are gargoyles. Of course, some of our songs are written about gargoyle things for our loyal gargoyle audience. We know you’re out there.
