The ChristianRocker.com (CR) team has successfully made it home safely and survived our very first GMA week. Overall, GMA was a LIFE CHANGING experience. We had the opportunity to fellowship with many bands and industry professionals at the show and that part was way cool. In this first experience at GMA, We saw the good, the bad and unfortunately some of the ugly in the Christian Music Scene.

I probably heard the name of Jesus mentioned out loud a record number of times in a single week. But, sadly on the surface it just looked like another music industry function for a just another musical niche in another musical city. There were only a handful of times where the true presence of God filled the air. It was those artists that could set manage to set aside the "coolness factor" and not focus on the eyes of the industry gazing blankly at them... that made GMA a special time for me personally.

This was an extreme encouragement to see "true ministry" in the midst of all the above. When those few artists tapped into the the holy spirit and went into the deep waters. Undeniably, Heaven fell into the room when they obeyed and would just press in. Why is it soooooo hard for even the best of the best to enter into the presence of the holy spirit? Don't they understand that God is always faithful when we just press in a bit more? Our God will always honor faithfulness 100% of the time.

I left GMA with a single question racing thru my head, Why do we do this Christian Music thing anyways?

Is if for a steady paycheck for some? Is it for the glory of self for others? Or, Is it to bring us in the presence of the living God?

Today, as I played catch-up on some of the more monotonous CR site management tasks, I received the answer to the above question when I least expected it... My 10 year old son ran into the living room yelling Daddy! Daddy! I lead my first person to the Lord while playing in the woods today! BINGO! It is for that purpose, that we do this Christian Music thing!

Out of the mouth of babes...ministry at it's finest eh?

We live in a time where we sit on comfy couches with Pizza Hut's phone number pre-programmed in speed dial, we can order food with minimal effort for ourselves. Boy... As a church we love sitting on these comfy couches (pews) eating our pizza's (sermons) getting FAT (prideful & religious) and enjoy doing a whole lot of NOTHING for the kingdom of God! We need to get out and exercise, exercise our belief in the living God, exercise some faith for a change & get out of our comfort zones... and do something and go somewhere where God can REALLY use us!

Aren't we supposed to be fishers of men?

Aren't we supposed to go into the world and preach Good News?

Aren't we supposed to worship the Lord with new songs like David did?

Christ is the epicenter of creativity in my humble opinion. SO,  WHY NOT TAP INTO IT!

Soooooo why do we SELL OUT and conform to the world so much or even worse just blend into the Christian Scenery?

We are a peculiar people, We need to lead the way, be a LIGHT and be an EXAMPLE.

Come on people, Let's do something BIG in 2008! Let's really start to encourage one another. Let's build a community that embraces the truth and prepares each other to minister to a lost and dying world!

I don't know about you but I AM NOT SATISFIED, I crave the presence of God, I WANT MORE! I NEED MORE!

God deserves more from us, God deserves our best & God deserves a Christian music industry that does not conform to what has worked once before in the world to get it's "formulas" of "success".

Flat out. GOD IS BIGGER THAN ALL THAT.

I am going to start devoting at least hour a day in praying for the individual members profiles of this site. I will be praying for a revival fire to be ignited in each of you and a boldness to minister to others in each of you. I will pray for a release of the Holy Spirit and that for new songs to pour out. Am I anything special? Nope. Just a guy that has a mission to digitally convey the heart of Jesus Christ to starving artists and music lovers as I discover what that means....myself! Please, JOIN me in praying for each member of the community...Let's come into some REAL AGREEMENT!

The Christian Music Scene is no different than the Secular Music Scene but with a little sugar on top. WE MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT!

This is the real reason why ChristianRocker.com exists. I praise God for this revelation and for greater focus on why the ChristianRocker.com team does what it does.
