The Jacets are an indie-rock band based out of the metro-Detroit area. Previous to the begining of the band Jesse Atkinson(lead singer/Guitar) and Justin Thiede (lead guitar) being childhood friends developed a two piece piano/acoustic guitar that spanded out into the Jacets. They knew they had something special from the first practice, and began to pursue more opportunities as a band. Keeping only one song “The Prom” from the first show that they played; new music such as “Ethics” an edgy pop rock song, and “Southern Girl” with country/blues influences emerged from creative writing styles of Jesse, and Justin. Managing to hit various music genres while maintaining a “Jacets” style was the goal in the new writing. Playing shows for different venues all over Michigan, and having members that are all serious about making a career out of this opportunity, brought them to making an EP the Summer of 2006. Recording with Studiominx in Farmington Hills Michigan they pushed out a 5 song EP in a matter of two days finishing early, with a tracking time of 10 hours. Working with a great studio, and talented engineer allowed the Jacets to have the EP out for sale within two weeks. They are currently booking more shows around Michigan, and looking to make their way out of Michigan. The Jacets are currently unsigned and have promo packs to send to record labels, and management groups to continue their ambitions of having a career in music.
