PHAT CAT’S BIO

Gospel Rap Recording Artist PHAT CAT (Chad A. Turley) was born and raised in Sunnyside, WA in 1976.  Family life was always good growing up and CAT was never subjected to poverty or abuse.  Jesus was always a part of CAT’s life, but not always priority #1.  Always chasing the need for acceptance, CAT found himself caught up in violence, drugs, and alcohol in his teen years through early adulthood.  Being a local secular rapper also fed his ego and need to live that thug life that is so popular in the Rap culture today.

At the age of 25 CAT hit his personal bottom and had no where to go but up.  Through treatment and re-dedicating his life to Christ…a new creation was born.  After a year of working on his relationship with Christ, PHAT CAT felt a strong calling from God to jump out into the ministry.  His longtime love for hip hop and revived relationship with Christ fueled his ambition to hit the ground running spreading God’s word using hip hop as a tool.  Working along side talented artists such as Smooth of K2S, CAT dropped his solo album “Cloudy Dreams” and has used it as a tool to reach people from the church to the streets to the belly of the beast.  Smooth beats and lyrical eloquence are the tools that come together to make this music appeal to Christians and non-Christians alike.  PHAT CAT has shared the stage with talented artists such as K2S, Corey Red and Precise, ABG, Waslyk, Urban D, Mr. Del, Willie Will, etc.  Selling cds in several states and even in Japan,

PHAT CAT is making waves in the Holy Hip Hop scene & has a highly anticipated sophomore release just around the corner featuring artists/producers like CROW from Bruthaz Grimm, Karusso, K2S, TR Griffin, II Tre, Salty Beatz, Funk Daddy, and many more.  From a teen full of anger to a man full of love, CAT shares his life story and heart in all his lyrics and makes music for the young and old alike, hip hop fan or not.  His newest ventures include prison ministry, being a youth leader at his church, gaining the interest of Visualize Music Group, and working on releasing DVD and new cd.  Don’t sleep on this Holy Hip Hop out of the Pacific Northwest!  God Bless!
