Biography Hello everyone, this is Mike Instine, Vocalist and Bassist for our band, Fill The Void. Fill The Void was formed by myself and James Miller, the guitarist. We started out with a drummer and friend Gary Witt. However, Gary decided this was not the path for him, so we were left with a band with a singer and guitarist. Over time, James and I just prayed that God would send along the rest of the band according to his will. It seemed like no time and my step-mother said she knew a drummer from her work who would like to "jam" with us. I have to admit that James and I were kind of skeptical at first, considering I was 21 and James was 22. This guy, Rex Davidson, was 30. However, we decided that if it was God's will, things would happen. It took about 20 minutes to figure out that Rex was a major piece to the Fill The Void puzzle. Now, we just needed a bassist. We had a short stint with a close friend Alan Cox, who is a phenominal bassist, but it just wasn't there. To make a long story short, I was at a music store looking around and saw a bass guitar for a decent price, because the guys at Music Center USA in Bellefontaine, OH. ALWAYS hook me up. Well, as ironic as it truly is, God gave me the wisdom and drive to learn and I was playing 90 % of our songs in THREE WEEKS. I'd never picked up a bass before in my life! Granted, I did play guitar for a few years, but we just knew it was God's will. Well, that's where we stand right now; a three piece band with songs that are, well, diverse. We like to explore different areas of music in playing, but in all I'd say we are a Hard Rock band. That offsets the "Metal" songs we play with the "soft rock" songs we play. Anyway, we're just out to spread the message of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and have fun, bang some heads, and go crazy in the process. We currently have no shows scheduled, but we are always looking for opportunities for ANYTHING. We are ready to play at birthday parties, Graduation parties, Concerts, whatever the Lord sends our way, we will do our best to fulfill our duties to our God. Thank you, and GOD BLESS! FILL THE VOID
