Biography As a band we have only one goal, to reach people with the truth of the Gospel. We have little personal ambitions for success or fame, yet fame seems to lend a voice, so we exploit it for the advancement of the Gospel and the Kingdom of God. We have a mandate from God to be a prophetic voice to the nations and so all of our efforts are directed to this end. Another goal is to take back music, which is owned by God, not the world, and use its influence globally to help usher in the Kingdom on that great and fearful day. Our music has been described as intense, passionate, spirit filled, meaningful and full of truth. We believe it is inspired of the Holy Spirit, and therefore has the substance to permanently change willing lives. Initially, when we started out as a band, we put songs together and started playing in the pubs and clubs of Glasgow Scotland. Superhero was formed out of a few guys with desire to write music and be heard. As the band developed, God fused our personalities, remolded our hearts and today, our music stands testimony to what God can do when you yield to His ways. We started getting asked to play beyond our boarders, then a CD was recorded, and a year later we were called by God to step out in faith and “give up our day jobs” and go full time with music ministry! This was our greatest test and challenge which represented a large leap of faith as finances were not in place nor evident to support such a calling. Four years later God has remained faithful to meet our needs and provided what we need to continue, one miracle after another miracle of provision. At the venues we have participated in, we have seen hundreds upon hundreds of people accept the salvation message of Jesus Christ. Countless emails from listeners of our music have written telling us of their acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior. This is what it is all about for us… this is “success” for us, whenever anyone accepts Jesus Christ. Music is at its best when it can move you, when it touches you deeply. We have asked the Lord to provide us with music that will move people, stir and touch hearts and cause them out of their own free will to accept Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior and Redeemer of their life. Our music is different, because it is supernatural, spiritual and we are taking it out in to the world, a world that does not necessarily know, understand or accept Jesus Christ. We bring this message in Love, and in a spirit of Love, we can confront people with truth, salvation and the eternal choice of salvation. We also have come to learn that sharing “His Truth” without Love is brutality and only add another calloused layer. We have teamed up with some great people along the way, our UK manager Gary Smith from Big Ideas, our US Manager Dave Pujals, as well, individuals from other bands have been a great help and blessing especially John Cooper from Skillet, and the latest being Delirious’ Furious Records have been great. They are very supportive, encouraging and understand what we have been called to do. Today our music is available on ChristianRocker.com and is being downloaded globally across the internet. Superhero has played impressive venues in the UK, the Carling Academy, Manchester Apollo, King Tut’s in Glasgow, the SECC, The Forum in London and have performed live in the MTV studios. Our ministry travels have taken us from Scotland through England, Spain, Italy, Portugal, France and Ireland. We’ve had singles released in the UK and other parts of the world like South Africa and New Zealand. Superhero has opened for or played with such notables as Delirious, Switchfoot, Skillet, Newsboys, Third Day, DecembeRadio, All Star United, Luna Halo, Bread of Stone, Nevertheless and Rebecca St. James, and played before audiences of many thousands throughout Europe and the US. On our most recent CD “Fake Lunar Landing” we worked with a great producer, Alan Branch who has worked with some of the biggest bands, and our recordings have been well received and sustained with great reviews. It’s always great receiving accolades, and is does feel a bit like we are living the dream, but our success is always reminded and foreshadowed by the stark reality of our calling, and that Jesus is soon returning, and that we are in the days of the final harvest. Our individual and combined faith as a band is an important aspect of our life and that everything else comes second to God. We are only satisfied when we keep God first, whenever music or anything else becomes more important we quickly seem to lose God’s favor and His anointing is greatly diminished in our ministry efforts. Our faith is central to our life, we are not just talking about faith, but try as best as we can to live by the teachings of Jesus. Every decision we make as a band or individually includes God. We are not really interested in playing “Church”, but being his evangelizing and prophetic hands extended. In reading A.W. Tozers books he mentions we should “live each day as though Christ may return tomorrow, but we should work for our Lord as though he might not return for a thousand years.” In taking advantage of opportunity that God gives us to serve him, we try to think big, but must also remember to pay close attention to details and stand up for what is right and stay firm in the truth of Jesus Christ, who He is, and what His purpose is for our individual lives. Superhero believes that with God all things are possible. We want to encourage people to stand up and release their inner evangelist, to be His hands extended, to stand together and change the world as we continue to look to the sky for Christ's soon return.
