The phrase ‘Romans Road’ is used in many Christian circles to describe a set of verses from the book of Romans used to help a newcomer to the Christian faith come to salvation. Romans Highway seeks to accomplish the same goal, except their road is a modern blend of Rock, Alternative and Worship music.    
    The band started out as just two men, Singer/Keyboardist Rick Jackson and Guitarist/Singer Seth Montgomery who choose to use their gifts and talents for the greater purpose of worshiping God and spreading His word. After a few years playing together as a duo, the two decided it was the right time to take the music to the next level and add a full band.
    Thousands of prayers and phone calls later, God delivered a group of talented and driven musicians. First to join the Highway was Chris Mohr on Drums, followed soon thereafter by Rex McKinniss on Guitars and Vocals. The third and final addition was Rick’s brother Ryan Jackson on Bass.
    Almost immediately, the band’s collective creativity burst into fruition. The music created became the bold breathe of fresh air you hear today. Formatting the songs around the Acoustic Guitar and the Keys give the songs a base people can easily connect with, while the layers around them seem to add hooks for everyone. The Electric Guitar adds an edge that connects with the youth while Rick and the vocals give the band talent to spare. The rhythm section of Chris and Ryan keep the groove smooth and flowing to round out this new and exciting spirit-driven sound. From heart-jerking acoustic ballads to earth-shaking rock songs, Romans Highway will please nearly any crowd it gets in front of.    
    From the first show in front of 150 Fellowship of Christian Athletes members, to the show they are playing this weekend, every member pours their heart and soul into every performance. This devotion to not just the music but to God and His ministry has garnered them with success of an immeasurable amount.
    However, the success of Romans Highway is not based in contracts, royalties and careers, but in the faith of those persons who became closer to or met Jesus Christ for the first time due to a performance. As long as the focus is on Christ, Romans Highway will continue to minister through music. A career as musicians is secondary; leading God’s Children to Christ is first.
